The first specialized event of challenges in the field of water, environment and energy was held to solve the problems and challenges in the field of water, environment and energy in Sharif research center of science and technology.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Ali Morteza Birang, deputy for international affairs and technological exchange, expressed on the opening ceremony of the first specialized event on challenges in the field of water, environment and energy: five years ago and at the beginning of the path, there were some obstacles to the path of creating the infrastructures for the ecosystem of entrepreneurship, such as accelerators and innovation centers, in universities. Some believe that the university environment must be only dedicated to education and research. Meanwhile, Sharif University and the majority of universities in the country have a suitable environment for development of new businesses and environmental activities of academic graduates and students.

Birang continued: with regard to the activities of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs in the past few years and improving the entrepreneurship ecosystem in the country, a new path has been paved for university graduates to be able to work in their specialized field and establish new businesses and not be disconnected from university.

He also asserted: after that, creating the advanced technologies growth center in Sharif University and measures taken afterwards, such as establishing the entrepreneurship center of the university, technology services organization, accelerators, and information technology innovation center, helped forming the necessary infrastructures. Currently, we have witnessed the innovation region of Sharif, and the efforts of the university in achieving this success are greatly appreciated.

The deputy for international affairs and technological exchange conveyed: today, 450 companies are based in the surrounding area of Sharif University and perform technological and innovative activities. This would not be possible without preparing the necessary infrastructures for activities of the players of the ecosystem.

He also marked: in line with creating the market for promotion of energy and environment, measures have been taken to develop international cooperation so that goals determined to eliminate problems in the field of water, environment and energy could be achieved.

Birang pointed out: the maximal use of capacity of female specialists of the field has been put on the agenda.
