With the signing of a trilateral cooperation agreement between the Vice Presidency of Science, the Kish Free Zone, and the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Group, the groundwork was laid for the launch and development of a technology hub, including digital economy and artificial intelligence, based on the capacities of Kish Island.

This tripartite cooperation agreement, given the importance of developing a knowledge-based economy, has been formed with the aim of developing inter-sectoral cooperation and transforming the Kish Free Zone into a technology and innovation hub for the digital economy based on artificial intelligence.

The development of aerospace technologies and industries, research and development in petrochemical industries, clean energy, and the base for the gathering and growth of the country's active accelerators are also other issues that have been emphasized in this tripartite agreement.

An agreement reached between the Vice Presidency of Science, the Kish Free Zone Organization, and the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Group considered transforming the Kish Free Zone into a center for synergy and commercialization of knowledge-based products and services. Sustainable development, job creation, and enhancing the country's scientific and industrial status at the regional and international levels are among the perspectives considered and emphasized by the parties to this agreement.

The most important goals of this agreement include creating suitable platforms for cooperation in the fields of science, technology, innovation, industry, and the knowledge-based economy, focusing on the development of new technologies in the digital economy, artificial intelligence, aviation and aircraft repair industries, the petrochemical industry, and establishing a hub for the needs and technological capabilities of the country's petrochemical industry in the Kish Free Zone.
