Train Progress in Isfahan

Development of rail technologies

In a meeting attended by the Vice President of Science, Isfahan Province's technological development strategies were discussed, especially the project to produce the first five-car metro train with an overhead power system.

According to the Communication and Information Center in the Vice Presidency of  Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, in a meeting held on January 1st of this year with the presence of Hossein Afshin, Vice President of Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, Mohammad Noor Salehi, Chairman of the Islamic Council of Isfahan City, Ali Ghasemzadeh, Mayor of this metropolis, and the accompanying team at the Vice Presidency's office, technological development strategies for Isfahan province were examined.

The meeting, which aimed to strengthen technological cooperation between Tehran and Isfahan, emphasized the importance of new technologies and their role in strengthening scientific and economic ties between the two cities.

Among the key topics raised in this meeting was the project to produce the first five-car metro train with an overhead power system for the Isfahan metropolis. In this regard, the details of the contract for this five-car metro with MAPNA Company, Isfahan Metro, and the Vice Presidency of Science were discussed and reviewed in detail.

At this meeting, Afshin emphasized the importance of technological cooperation in the direction of sustainable development and innovation and announced his readiness to support technological projects in Isfahan province.

It is worth mentioning that, relying on the support and financial backing of the Vice Presidency of Science and the Innovation and Prosperity Fund, the Tehran Metro project, as a national and pioneering project, was successfully implemented and provided a suitable platform for the formation of a powerful network of knowledge-based companies in the railway field.

This measure not only led to a reduction in dependence on foreign countries but also paved the way for the development of innovation and job creation within the country. Now, relying on these experiences, projects such as the Isfahan Metro are taking more confident steps toward localization and self-sufficiency in the rail industry.
