The Vice President of Science
The Innovation Market, an Opportunity for the Qualitative Development of Knowledge-Based Companies
Afshin said at the opening ceremony of the Iranian OTC Innovation Market: "In the past, connecting companies to the OTC and stock exchanges were extremely difficult because all of these companies were innovative and therefore had high risks. However, with the initiative that emerged, the Innovation Market was created with two growth boards and a knowledge-based board, and it seems that through this measure, a major change will occur in the real growth of knowledge-based companies."
According to the Communication and Information Center in the Vice Presidency of Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, the ceremony to launch trading on the Iranian Over-the-Counter Exchange's innovative market was held today at the Iranian Over-the-Counter Exchange Organization in the presence of the Vice President of Science.
Hossein Afshin stated that one of the indicators of development in the field of knowledge-based industries is the issue of financing from various markets, and said: The GII index is one of the components that examines countries based on innovative and technological parameters, and in this environment, one of the most important parameters in this index that increases the score of countries is the issue of financing.
He continued: "Traditional financing is neither advantageous nor beneficial to companies. Therefore, knowledge-based companies must have easier access to financial resources to develop and achieve higher goals, and in this space, one of the best accesses is the capital market."
According to Afshin, in the past, connecting companies to the over-the-counter and stock exchanges was challenging because all of these companies were innovative and therefore had high risks, but with the initiative that emerged, an innovative market was created with two growth boards and a knowledge-based board, and it seems that through this measure, a major transformation will occur in the field of real growth of knowledge-based companies.
The Vice President of Science stated that sometimes when it comes to the growth of knowledge-based companies, the number of companies is considered a measure of growth, and he clarified: "Quantity is not the whole story and is not considered a correct and sufficient indicator because the growth of knowledge-based companies must be deep and based on their quality." According to him, one of the factors that achieve the quality of growth of knowledge-based companies is their access to financial resources and the capital market.
9 knowledge-based companies are accepted in the innovation market
Afshin continued: "We have at least 15 companies accepted in the innovation market, of which 9 are knowledge-based, and it is hoped that the number of these companies will increase."
The Vice President of Science also pointed out to reporters the goal of creating an innovative market and said: "One of the most important things that can grow a market and a trend is financing discussions. In this space, the easiest and best type of financing that exists in the world is capital markets. The point is that such markets were available to large companies and they could offer their shares through the OTC and the stock exchange, but this was not possible for knowledge-based companies and growth centers. With the effort and ability of the OTC and the stock exchange, this market was prepared and it can be said that 9 knowledge-based companies, 11 growth centers and 15 companies were accepted, and the initial public offering of shares for the first company was carried out today."
The head of the National Elites Foundation added: "The offering and presence of knowledge-based companies on the OTC market promise that the quality of knowledge-based companies and the quality of their products will increase and they will be able to achieve greater growth." He also noted: "By being present in the innovative market, companies benefit from all the advantages of the primary and secondary markets, and the liquidity of shares makes their access to the capital market easier."
