The fourth national festival and exhibition of medical plants, natural products and Iranian medicine (traditional) was inaugurated in the presence of minister of agriculture and the vice president for science and technology affairs.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, fourth national festival and exhibition of medical plants, natural products and Iranian medicine (traditional) was initiated by presenting five thousand and 82 products in this field. In this event, 551 private companies and 170 knowledge-based companies have attended.

In addition, 132 technologies with the commercialization ability will be presented in the technomart of the event, and 172 technologies will be showcased in the student festival section. Moreover, 110 science centers will gather to present their achievements.

On the opening ceremony of the event, Mahmoud Hojati, the minister of agriculture, and Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, along with a number of knowledge-based companies in the area of medical plants were present.

The fourth national festival and exhibition of medical plants, natural products and Iranian medicine (traditional) is held in line with the realization of support of Iranian products, commercialization of knowledge-based economy and support through financial and spiritual investments and local infrastructures in line with self-reliance, job creation, and maximum use of domestic production and power in the field of medical plants and traditional medicine. In addition, the best technological products of the field are presented by the activists of this area.

The main topics of the event include the seed industry and the reproductive organs of medicinal herbs; the articles and publication of works related to medicinal herbs and traditional herbs; education and training in the traditional herbal medicine industry; the distribution network of medicinal herbs and herbal medicines; traditional medicine and related products; and vegetable forms.

Other topics of this event include technology transfer companies; medicines and herbal supplements (human-animal); natural products (essential oils and extracts); natural products (cosmetics); natural products (honey, rose water and distillates); natural products (food-medicine and herbal drinks); equipment and machinery dedicated to the medicinal plants; new technologies in the cultivation and processing of organic products and herbs.

The fourth national festival and exhibition of medical plants, natural products and Iranian medicine (traditional) will be held November 11^th-14^th 2018 in Musala of Tehran by the efforts of the medicinal plants and traditional medicine sciences and technologies development headquarter.
