According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, the news of “cancellation of customs exemptions of knowledge-based companies”, which was published in some media, was refuted over an announcement.

In the announcement, we read: “the customs exemptions of knowledge-based companies is clearly stated in article (3) of the law to support knowledge-based companies and institutes and commercialization of innovations and inventions. This customs exemption will be canceled when the legal article is canceled, which has still not occurred.

It was also pointed out: “the customs exemption of knowledge-based companies is based on Article (3) of the law approved by the Islamic consultative assembly, the decisions of the supreme council for science, research and technology, and articles (21) and (22) of the law enforcement by-laws approved by the Cabinet. In addition, the issue is carried out based on instruction of article (22) of law regulation, signed by minister of economic affairs and finance and minister of science, research and technology. None of these regulations have been canceled”.

Pointing out the objection to a stylesheet by the administrative justice court, the announcement emphasized: “the faulty stylesheet did not include the adopting of new benefits, facilities and supporting customs exemptions and is just a guide for applicant companies.

In addition, the announcement pointed out synergy among all executive organizations of the country to support knowledge-based companies, asserting: “today, there is great synergy between the secretary of supreme council of science, research and technology, ministry of science, research, and technology, the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, and customs of Iran to implement the legal laws.”

In the announcement, we read: “the review of legal texts and judgments of the Administrative Justice Court should be carefully considered and the media should be urged to be more careful in avoiding misinterpretation.”

In the end, we read: “fortunately, the development of support of knowledge-based companies has always been emphasized by the Supreme Leader and heads of parliament. In addition, the Vice-Presidency has developed the relevant support programs. Nevertheless, it is important to increase hope in the support of these programs by the media.”
