according to a memorandum of understanding between the Vice-Presidency and municipality of Mashhad, the operation for development of an innovation factory in Mashhad is started.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, the second innovation factory of Mashhad has entered the execution phase based on signing a memorandum of understanding between Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, and Mohammad Reza Kalaei, the mayor of Mashhad.

The vice president for science and technology affiars expressed in the ceremony for signing the agreement: in fact, the innovation factory of Mashhad is established with the goal of creating a safe place fo receiving ideas, innovations, and inventions of the youth of the province and east north of the country. This is mainly due to the fact that the private sector must support the ideas of the youth. If the government only enters this phase, the level of success of ideas and inventions will decrease.

He continued: the vice presidency in the national elites foundation supports these ideas and inventions. However, this must be finalized in the private sector with the help of active accelerators.

According to Sattari, urban problems should not be solved only by the municipality, but people and young people should find innovative solutions to these problems. Innovation factory is also a place to get these ideas and inventions.

The president of the national elites foundation pointed out the necessity of establishment of centers such as innovation factory and centers in the center of cities, such as Mashhad, and near this large city, asserting: in the community, accelerators that are active in a variety of areas, such as the elimination of urban and social problems, such as addiction and poverty, must be present.

He considered the only way to improve the society to be using the ideas of the youth, expressing: the municipality alone cannot solve urban problems. In fact, the mayor must provide a suitable platform for the ideas of the youth and the people. We must give young people the opportunity to save the city.

He said the launch of the innovation factory in Mashhad was a good and fruitful event, claiming: other provinces will surely consider Mashhad as a model, and they will launch such a factory.

The Innovation Factory of Mashhad Will Be Established Next Year

During this ceremony, Mohammad Reza Kalaei, the mayor of Mashhad, pointed out the start of construction of the innovation factory in Mashhad, declaring: the factory is under construction in the old building near Ferdowsi University of Mashhad. We have aimed to inaugurate the building in the seven months.

He added: we demand the Vice-Presidency to support any organization entering the factory. Another request of the municipality of Mashhad from the Vice-Presidency is creating a support network in the outskirt part of Mashhad with our cooperation.

Provisions of Memorandum

The agreement was signed with goals such as the use of existing capacity in the municipality of Mashhad, allocation and assignment of the necessary space for the establishment of the Innovation and Hosting Company for starters and accelerators. Also, exploitation of the developmental impacts and value added resulting from the establishment of these businesses, in line with the creation of entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation in society and urban management, is foreseen in the memorandum.

Development of the biotechnology of innovation and technology in order to develop the knowledge-based economy and to use the capabilities of the Mashhad metropolis, promotion of the knowledge-based economy and science and technology as one of the most important components of resistance economy through joint facilities and capacities are other goals of this memorandum of understanding.
