The vice president for science and technology affairs stated: a new generation of creative and young entrepreneurs have been flourished in the country, which can lay the foundation for joint scientific and technological cooperation with other countries.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, expressed on a meeting with Qassi Abdul Wahab al-Sahil, the minister of higher education of Iraq, about the creation of a joint cooperation agreement between knowledge-based companies and creative youth as a foundation for improving the abilities of both countries, expressing: a new generation of entrepreneurs has been shaped in Iran, laying the foundation for creating value added, as well as scientific and economic progress. This new generation determines the destiny of economy of Iran and international interaction in the field of science, technology and economy.

Pointing out the emergence of accelerators and knowledge-based companies in various areas of technology, Sattari affirmed: newly emerged businesses are capable in providing high-quality services and products at the international level. They can also have a good capacity for joint cooperation. However, a suitable infrastructure must be laid for conducting joint businesses between the two countries.

The president of the national elites foundation reminded the preparedness of Iran in conducting research and scientific interactions, marking: as a great interaction exists between the ministry of science of both countries in the field of education of students, we are ready to train experts in various fields, including nanotechnology, biotechnology, stem cells, and information and communication technology.

Sattari considered the level of education of Iran’s lab in training experts to be proper for developing a joint cooperation and invited the Iraqi delegation to visit the achievements of Iran in science and technology parks, growth centers, knowledge-based companies, and startups.

Cooperation in Iran in the Field of Nanotechnology, Stem Cells, and Cancer Treatment

In this meeting, the minister of higher education and research of Iraq explained about the abilities of Iran in various fields, including nanotechnology, medicine, and stem cells, asserting: we seek to create a type of cooperation between science and academic centers and use the experiences of Iran in various areas, such as treatment of different types of cancer, stem cells, and special studies on advanced sciences and technologies.

In addition, Ali Morteza Birang, head of the center for scientific and technological interantional interactions, stated: cooperation between the two countries dates back to 2015, when a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Vice-Presidency of Iran and the minister of science of Iraq. He added: within the framework of this agreement was the Iranian-made lab equipment exhibition in 2016, which hosted a relatively large delegation of authorities and experts from universities and ministry of science and technology.

Iraq Will Host the Iranian-made Laboratory Equipment

In this meeting, Peyman Salehi, the deputy for innovation and technology commercialization, affirmed: Iran is one of the capable poles of laboratory equipment production, in a way that more than 900 advanced equipment based on international standards are showcased in the latest round of made-in-Iran lab exhibition.

The minister of science of Iraq congradulated the cooepration on lab equipment and knowledge-based tools, announced the preparedness of Iraq to host lab equipment made in Iran and showcase their abilities.

In this meeting, the attendees discussed joint cooperation on scientific areas, transfer of technical knowledge and scientific experiences and interactions between technological companies of the two countries.
