More than three thousand students have participated in the “Brain Bee Event”.

 

The first stage of the fifth round of the national “Brain Bee” competition was held in the presence of more than three thousand and one hundred students in 38 examination centers of Tehran and capitals of other provinces of the country.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, this competition is held annually in two stages (December and January), and one representative from our country will be sent to compete in the global Brain Bee competition.
The national competition of Brain Bee is held by the student committee of the neuroscience association of Iran and the national brain-mapping laboratory with the support of cognitive sciences and technologies development headquarter and the cooperation of the national organization of educational testing.  

In the first stage, 30 students will be selected, who will attend theoretical and practical educational classes on anatomy and histology of the nervous system, function and physiology of the nervous system, familiarity with the diagnosis and treatment of neurological diseases (neurology) and psychiatry, and methods of imaging and mapping of the brain. In the end, they will compete with each other in three oral, practical, and written exams.

Winners of the second stage of the competition can become a member of the brain and cognition student club and be supported by the cognitive sciences and technologies development headquarter in their research and educational affairs.

Iranian representatives in the global competitions of Brain Bee have been able to gain the best ranks every year. In this regard, Mahsa Arman, a student of Farzanegan High School of Mashhad, Parsa Pat, a student Sardar Jangal High School of Rasht, and Shayan Bagheri have been able to gain the best ranks of this global competition.

It is noteworthy that the representative of Iran will be sent to South Korea for the Brain Bee competition in 2019.
