According to the communication and information center in the Vice Presidency of Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, the third meeting of the Council of the Medicinal Plants and Traditional Medicine Headquarters, November 19, under the initiative of the Knowledge-Based Economy Development of Medicinal Plants and Traditional Medicine Headquarters, with the presence of Ruhollah Dehghani Firouzabadi and a group of members the council was held at the place of the Vice Presidency of Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy.

Traditional medicine is a result of Iranian culture and civilization

Mohammadreza Shams Ardakani, the secretary of the development of the knowledge-based economy of medicinal plants and traditional medicine headquarters, said in the third meeting: "The discussion of traditional medicine and medicinal plants is firstly because it is monotheistic and holistic, and secondly because it arises from the culture and civilization of Iran. Thirdly, it is still used in the field of health and lifestyle today, it has become a special issue.

In the following, Dr. Mahdi Seyf Sahandi, the former secretary of the Science and Technology Development of Medicinal Plants and Traditional Medicine Headquarters presented a report on the performance of the Council and the major plans of this council in three categories: "Industry", "Agriculture" and "Health" (traditional medicine).

The necessary platform for the development of the export market of medicinal plants is provided due to the existing diversity

Peyman Salehi, the secretary of the National Research and Technology Network of Medicinal Plants with Export Capacity, among the other attendees of the meeting, started his discussion on the organization of traditional medicine and medicinal plants with the point that we should not lose the capacity of Article 13 of the Tax Law of 2023 and said: Companies are often worried about entering and investing in the field of traditional medicine and medicinal plants, and by giving them a three percent target, we can create the necessary motivation to invest in them.

Leila Moradi, who represented the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade in the meeting, also focused her discussion on the issue of perfumers and despite the fact that she saw this sector as more of a trade union, she emphasized that in organizing this sector, the Ministry of Health, Medicine and we have a serious need for medical education. According to her, since the Vice Presidency of Science has the necessary executive power, it can provide the ground for the realization of this synergy and inter-departmental work.

Another point that the vice president of science, technology and knowledge-based economy emphasized was the necessity of the presence for all members, especially the ministers of science, health, industry and mining, agriculture and labor in the council meetings, and in this regard, he suggested that the council meetings be held in the future. In a mission-oriented way, it should be specifically focused on the missions of a ministry so that the presence of ministers in the meetings can be benefited.
