Strengthening of Scientific and Technological Cooperation among Researchers of Iran and five Other Countries on Addiction
A joint meeting was held in the presence of secretary of cognitive sciences and technologies development headquarter and domestic and foreign experts and researchers to evaluate the methods to evaluate interdisciplinary and international cooperation in the area of cognitive sciences and addiction knowledge.
According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, methods of development and expansion of joint interdisciplinary and international cooperation in the area of cognitive sciences and addiction knowledge were discussed and evaluated in a meeting attended by senior managers and secretary of the cognitive sciences and technologies development, as well as a number of researchers and experts from the United States, European countries and Australia.
In this joint meeting, the attendees exchanged opinions on the implementation of joint interdisciplinary research projects and strengthening of international collaborations in the field of addiction to present effective services in scientific and clinical sections and provision of cognitive, prevention and rehabilitation services.
Geert Dom, a professor at University of Antwerp in Belgium, Alexander Mario Baldacchino, a faculty member in University of St Andrews in England, Hugh Garavan, an associate professor in University of Vermont in the United States, Antonio Verdejo-Garcia, an associate professor in Monash University of Australia, and Susanna Galea, a professor in University of Auckland in New Zealand, along with Iranian researchers attended this joint meeting to discuss issues with the secretary and senior managers of the cognitive sciences and technologies development headquarter. During the meeting, activities in areas related to cognitive sciences, specifically knowledge of addiction, and measures taken on prevention and cognitive rehabilitation and rehabilitation. In addition, analysis of field and scientific findings of this area, performing cultural activities, creating a database on addiction, and attention to aspects of cognitive neuroscience were confirmed in the meeting.
