With the goal of improving cooperation between research teams of Iran and Brazil in knowledge and technology borders and exchange and develop cognitive tools and services, new steps have been taken to deepen and extend the scientific and research relations of the two countries.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, the cognitive sciences and technologies development headquarter (CSTC) and research foundation of São Paulo in Brazil (FAPESP) approved another project in the area of cognitive neurosciences in their latest call for accepting research projects in interdisciplinary areas of brain and cognitive sciences. This project was selected from six delivered projects.

Mohammad Hossein Maghami, the senior expert of cooperation table of Iran and Brazil, expressed: the delivered projects that were received due to the call for acceptance of projects since February, a project was approved based on scientific and innovation quality, being executable, expertise of executers and scientific achievements after being assessed by judges and research council of the two active units of Iran and Brazil in the area of cognitive sciences.

He also marked: this joint research project has been presented by Reza Khosroabadi, faculty member of Shahid Beheshti University and “Fabio Simoes De Souza” from Federal University of Minas Gerais on the area of cognitive neurosciences for joint cooperation.

According to Maghami, this project will be implemented with joint and equal support by Sao Paulo (FAPESP) of Brazil and the cognitive sciences and technologies development headquarter. In addition, it is aimed to finalize the project in two years.

Holding six rounds of call to accept research projects in the area of cognitive sciences is the result of communication and interaction with senior experts of the cognitive sciences and technologies development headquarter and two valid scientific centers of Brazil to create a great space for mutual cooperation of the two countries in the past two years.

Two memorandums of understanding were signed and exchanged between the cognitive sciences and technologies development headquarter and research foundation of Sao Paulo and organization of support and assessment of higher education of Brazil to strengthen scientific links between specialized and research centers and in line with the implementation of joint projects along with exchange of professors and students in the area of brain and cognition studies.
