Call for support of research projects in the area of cognitive sciences is published
According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, in line with the goals and strategic priorities to develop the knowledge of cognitive sciences in the country, the cognitive sciences and technologies development headquarter has issued the 9th call for support of research projects with the serious emphasis on comprehensive cognitive problems of society.
Azizi stated: in the 9th call for research projects, two groups of projects will be received. In the first group, the projects are obtained to develop synergy of student dissertations and theses in order to achieve a determined goal in the area of cognitive sciences.
He continued: the aim of these projects is support of prominent researchers, who are willing to immigrate, in the area of cognitive sciences and technology. These individuals must have no prior activities in this area. Centralized activities related to the supervising of MSc and PhD theses, publication of articles in valid journals, performing research projects, producing products, or presenting services in the area of cognitive sciences and technologies are among the goals of this call.
According to Azizi, this group of research projects proposed by researchers includes a minimum of two theses (MSc/PhD), that must be in line with the research goals, technology or service development in the area of cognitive sciences and within the framework of priorities of the headquarter, following an integrated achievement.
Azizi also asserted: the projects of the second group are followed up with the goal of deepening and expanding technology development, service provision and performing original studies in the knowledge border of cognitive sciences and technologies. Another important objective of this group is forming interdisciplinary teams in the area of cognitive sciences and technologies in line with a specific research category. Research projects and technology development, especially in the area of basic sciences, depends on the determining of the next phases of the project in the near future to meet the needs of the society and develop the knowledge-based economy.
Senior expert of the cognitive sciences and technologies development headquarter affirmed: some of the prioritized areas of this call include “rehabilitation and improvement of cognitive abilities”, “fundamental and applied research in cognitive education”, “fundamental and applied research in cognitive language (Cognitive Linguistics)”, “cognitive studies based on brain-mapping”, “development of tools and technologies to study the time-network behavior of brain”, “cognitive studies in the clinical and neurocognitive sciences areas”, “development of cognitive technologies related to the brain-machine and brain-brain relationships”, “fundamental studies and theorization in the field of cognitive sciences”, “cognitive modeling” and “cognitive psychology”.
Azizi also marked: in the calls for projects, those in mutual cognitive and humanities areas, including social cognition, economy cognition, management cognition and cognitive humanities, are emphasized.
According to Azizi, researchers, professors and enthusiasts of the field can send their projects for the new call and benefit from the support packages of the headquarter in December 2018 through their user interface on the website of the cognitive sciences and technologies development headquarter.
