According to a cooperation agreement between the Vice-Presidency and the Iran Airports Company, the airport facilities will be domesticized with the help of indigenous abilities.
According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, based on a cooperation contract signed by the Vice-Presidency and the Iran Airports Company, it is decided to fully localize the lighting system of the flight agents, adapted to the geographical conditions and airports of the country.
The main goal of this contract is implementation of research projects, specialized sample production and creation of lighting tools for flight workers. Currently, spare parts and support are needed for lighting system of 47 airports in the country, and some of the systems must be updated. According to this contract, it is decided to receive the necessary instructions for testing and evaluating of these systems from the center of science and industry research of Iran to guarantee the quality of pieces.
Implementation of these projects will lead to the recognition of Iran as the first regional country with the ability of domestication of technology of airport equipment supply, and this important step will be taken based on the Article 44 of the Constitution.
Currently, many airport equipment of the country, including counters, scales, escalators, baggage handling system (BHS), MIMIK (flight factor lighting control system), and transformers with high power and control boards are all made in Iran using the ability of engineering from K. N. Toosi University of Technology to domesticize the flight factor lightings and fixed flow regulators (CCR).
Before that, the Academic Center for Education, Culture, and Research of K. N. Toosi University of Technology had modeled the components of lights on the side of runway for airports of Iran.
