On the second day of the third national festival of “Sea, the Path of Progress”, the guided competition of remotely operated underwater vehicle (ROV) was held in the pool of the location, where three top teams were selected.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Hatam Ghasemzadeh, secretary of the secretariat of ROV competition pointed out the participation of 15 teams in this event, stating: the secretariat of this section received 15 works for this competition, among which only eight can enter the final stage after the evaluations. The selected teams competed in the Vanak Pool in the presence of representatives of IOS marine installations and marine industries organization and research agent of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and secretariat of the headquarter. After the assessment process, three teams were selected on the day of competition as the best teams.

According to this report, the MRL team from Islamic Azad University, Qazvin branch, was ranked first by earning 81 points, followed by Artmia San’at Qom with 47 points as the second place winner and Kavosh San’ati Sharif with 25 points as the third place winner.

It should be mentioned that the first-third winners received cash prizes of 32, 25, and 10 million IRR, respectively. In addition, the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs will financially support other participating teams of the competition.

ROV is a remotely guided submarine, which is a tool that can be connected to a fleet and be controlled by a cable to the water surface. Presence of the connecting cable of the fleet and ROV can solve many problems, including the transfer of control signal, energy transfer and rapid evacuation of collected information.
