The ship-launching book is published with the support of marine knowledge-based industries and technology development headquarter to provide a comprehensive explanation of ship launching and landing.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, there is often personal experience involved in explaining about the science of ship launching and landing in Iran, except for a few cases, instead of using the modern technology. Most of these personal experiences are based on daily events during the work of a person and have no scientific base. Therefore, there is a tangible gap in this area in the country. The problems and events occurred in ponds of the country that are occasionally published are evidence to this statement. As such, considering the required needs in this field, the authors of this book aimed to compile the book based on occupational situation and with regard to the valid scientific resources of the world.

According to this report, all chapters of this book are in the standard form, including introduction, principles, different types and details, necessary estimations for ship launching, valid international standard in construction, repair, and use of desired methods, advantages and disadvantages and safety issues. In addition, various resources have been used in all chapters and some parts have been added by the authors to interpret other contents from the other books.

The main audience of this book is undergraduates of marine engineering field, ship designers and owners, captains, inspectors of rating agencies and port and maritime organization.
