The main goal of research patrol with “Persian Gulf Marine Explorer” is observation of damages and discoveries of biological and natural capacities in the southern waters of Iran, which has been realized by researchers.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, the second stage of research patrol with “Persian Gulf Marine Explorer” in the Strait of Hormuz-Persian Gulf and Oman Sea is now finished. In this stage, 15 researchers from Oceanographic Research Center, University of Hormozgan, Khoramshahr Marine Science and Technology University, and Bushehr University of Persian Gulf were present.

The assessment project of the Persian Gulf, Strait of Hormuz and Oman Sea is a long-term project carried out under the supervision of the national Oceanographic Research Center. In this process, damages and discoveries of biological and natural capacities in the southern waters of Iran are observed.

The “Persian Gulf Marine Explorer” is the first ship made in Iran by industrialists of 150 industrial and research centers with 27 million IRT in the ship construction industries of Shahid Darvishi of ministry of defense in four years, which has led to saving up to 40% of currency.

At first, it was decided to build the fleet by the marine industry of the country, aiming to leave the job of designing to an Italian Company. Nevertheless, sanctions against Iran changed our plan due to lack of cooperation of the mentioned company. Therefore, all of the design and construction stages were completely locally performed by domestic researchers.
