Secretary of biotechnology development headquarter announced the production of 20 new biotechnology medications in the next four years in Iran.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Mostafa Ghanei, secretary of biotechnology development headquarter, stated about the production of new biotechnology medications: one of the priorities of the biotechnology development headquarter is support of production of new medications. In this regard, 20 new biotechnology medications will be produced in the country in the next four years.

He continued: currently, there are 146 biotechnology medications in the global market, from which 20 are produced in Iran, including four monoclonal antibody medications and 16 recombinant drugs.

According to Ghanei, the number of current biotechnology medications manufactured in Iran will increase to 40 by production of new drugs.
