The 15th round of the international Bebras challenge will be held.
The 15th round of the international Bebras challenge will be held December 16th-21st, 2017 in Iran with the support of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs.
According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, the 15th round of the international Bebras challenge will be held for fourth-grade students to pre-university students in Iran during December 16th-21st, 2017 by Fatemi Cultural Institute and in cooperation with the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs and knowledge-based research center 25 (IPM).
The Bebras challenge is a promotional online competition held to familiarize students with the concepts of computer sciences and computational thinking in various countries. This global innovation is trying to create the opportunity to pay attention to computer sciences and computational thinking for audiences from all around the world in the form of an encouraging challenge.
In addition, this challenge consists of a set of short and semi-long interactive or multiple-choice questions, known as Bebras Tasks, which have a close association with computer science concepts. Nevertheless, even elementary students can solve the problems without a previous knowledge about computer sciences.
Bebras in Iran
Since 2015, Iran has been selected as a member of Bebras Global Association, represented by Fatemi Cultural Institute.
The 15th round of this international event will be held in Iran by Fatemi Cultural Institute and with the support and cooperation of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs and IPM knowledge-based research center.
The Bebras challenge in Iran will be held for three groups of students, including primary (fourth-sixth grades), juniors (seventh-ninth grades) and seniors (10th-grade and pre-university). In addition, the challenge contains three primary stages held only and advanced challenge of Bebras online (the second week of February 2018) and special course of computer sciences with the cooperation of knowledge-based research center of IPM, which will be held Summer of 2018.
