Presence of more than 900 students in the neurocognitive sciences competition

 

The fifth round of the neurocognitive sciences competition (special student version) will be finished with introducing the winners of the event.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, these competitions are held to more familiarize students with the area of cognitive sciences and technologies and promote and improve this science at the level of educational spaces. Every year, these competitions are held with the support of cognitive sciences and technologies development headquarter and with the cooperation of the National Center for the Development of Exceptional Talents and the Provincial Education Departments. It is notable that the competition is held in Allameh Helli High School.

The fifth round of neurocognitive sciences competition has been initiated since last fall and by holding the third round of “Polar Workstations” across the nation. After presenting projects by students in the spring of the current year and evaluation of projects, the closing ceremony of the event will be held October 5th 2018 along with introducing the winners.

The neurocognitive sciences competition (special student version) is held with the goal of attracting enthusiasts of the field, especially those eager to studying the brain, with an inspiration from the international competition of backyard brain. The event was held in 2013 for the first time with the support of cognitive sciences and technologies development headquarter in the presence of a number of graduates of Allameh Helli High School.

In the education stage, the polar workstations are held for nationwide coverage in five poles of Tehran, Shiraz, Zanjan, Kerman, and Semnan. The event includes the preparation, compilation, and distribution of educational pamphlets in selected schools and holding educational workshops to familiarize students with this area of knowledge and guide teachers in this regard. In the research section, research projects are defined based on side training of students and their guidance. In the fifth round of the event, more than 900 students in the form of 35 teams and 100 teachers participated from across the nation. In the end, three top student teams will be introduced.
