Secretary of advanced materials and construction development headquarter stated: the local graduates have an acceptable quality rate. In addition, the willingness of foreign universities to attract Iranian graduates shows the proper quality of our human resources.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Mahmoud Mehrdad Shokrieh, secretary of advanced materials and construction development headquarter expressed: with regard to the interdisciplinary nature of advanced materials, considerable educational and research activities have been carried out in this field in the country. Meanwhile, the academic and research centers have a highlighted role in improving the creativity and knowledge of human resources. Some of these efforts include the activities of more than 50 universities at BSc level, more than 60 universities at MSc level and more than 40 universities at PhD level.

Shokrieh continued: with regard to the history of this field, more than 15 research centers and scientific associations are active in areas related to advanced materials and construction. However, the interdisciplinary nature of advanced materials las led to the indirect activities in other fields, such as physics, chemistry, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, nuclear engineering, medical engineering, nanotechnology and polymer.

According to Shokrieh, this does not mean that our education is flawless. Without a doubt, there are some defects in the system that must be eliminated. For instance, we have some weaknesses in the area of skill education. In addition, there is a need for re-training and scientific support for graduates with regard to the pace of scientific and technological changes in this field. Moreover, there is a need for designing new or revision courses in educational curriculum of students.
