Meeting of the President of ECO Science Foundation with the Vice President for Science and Technology Affairs
The president of ECO Science Foundation had a meeting with the vice president for science and technology affairs of Iran.
According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, professor Manzoor Hussain Soomro, the president of ECO Science Foundation, met with Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs.
In this meeting, Sattari pointed out the high capacities of Iran in the area of technology, defining joint science projects as the priority of cooperation with the ECO Foundation.
He also stated: education of specialized human resource and transfer of experiences in the technology area are topics supported by the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, which can yield positive results.
The vice president for science and technology affairs mentioned the passing of Iran from resource-based economy to knowledge-based economy and regarded the role of universities and startups in economic activities of the country to be significantly important. In addition, he considered collaboration with other international organizations as a priority of the country in order to establish a new economy ecosystem.
Sattari also presented a report on the history of collaborations with other scientific foundations from Russia, China and Hungary and pointed out the joint financial funds for support of joint cooperation projects, asserting: this process can also be performed with ECO Science Foundation.
The ECO Science Foundation consists of 10 members, including Iran, Pakistan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Afghanistan, and it is based in Islamic Abad, Pakistan.
