Knowledge-based Companies Are the Product of Public and Private Organizations

Knowledge-based Companies Are the Product of Public and Private Organizations

The president of Iran national science fund pointed out that various organizations could not reach knowledge-based services and products to the market and large companies and industries alone, stating: public and private sectors worked in collaboration with each other to form an innovation ecosystem.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Ali Vahdat expressed on a meeting on the role of knowledge-based companies and startups in the judicial transformation: passing the law of supporting knowledge-based companies in 2010 by the Islamic consultative assembly led to the formation of today’s innovation ecosystem. Currently, more than 4500 knowledge-based companies are active in Iran, which is why this level of potential has been created in the country.

Vahdat also pointed out: knowledge-based companies have different needs in areas of company registration, intellectual property, and valuation of assets. We hope that these problems could be eliminated by proper measures taken by the relevant organization. One of the problems of knowledge-based companies is that some of them are in the form of a platform and do not provide a service. Understanding this issue is crucial to create relative protection for companies. One of the things that should be considered most in the country is the discussion of the international law of these companies so that in cases like sanctions they can use the capacity of the judiciary to get their rights.

He emphasized: in addition, a court with sufficient visibility in this area should be set up to address the issues and problems of the technology and innovation ecosystem. We must also consider a different valuation for these companies when dealing with these firms.

Deputy for international affairs and technological exchange also attended this event, where he pointed out that the judicial system plays several roles, the first role of which is sovereignty. In this regard, he mentioned: a domestic ecosystem would not be formed if the sovereignty of a country were not in favor of proper consumption and knowledge-based companies.

Eliasi also asserted: there is no need for knowledge if we shut down the system any time the air is polluted. We need knowledge when we want to support the standards of automobiles. It is true that countries that have found that sovereignty has been in full compliance with standards and rules have experienced knowledge development. While a part of this process is the responsibility of the executive branch, a large part of it is the responsibility of the judicial system. Therefore, the first role of this system is improving standards and life quality.

A board member of Iran national science fund continued: the second issue is that companies that have developed their domestic market have made advancement in the knowledge-based field. A country that does not support its domestic market needs no knowledge. At present, the public consumption system of the country desperately needs protection from the domestic market. There are various laws in place, but the rule of law and the fight against corruption, which is the cornerstone of the growth of knowledge-based corporations, is not well respected.

Eliasi emphasized that the judicial system must act as the ownership regulator, asserting: currently, measures have been taken in this area. Meanwhile, considering the capacities of knowledge-based companies, the organization works behind the innovation and technology ecosystem. Therefore, a leap was be taken in the field of spiritual ownership and related laws.

In the end, he mentioned: the only way to reduce crime is relying on knowledge-based companies and startups since they provide clarify, correct use of information and possibility of monitoring the country. Therefore, the evolution of the judiciary depends on embracing this ecosystem.
