According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Sirous Vatankhah, secretary of energy technologies development headquarter, expressed about the priorities of this field in the country, affirming: the vastness of energy field and its value chain includes resources, production, transfer, distribution and consumption of energy. In this regard, a basket of completely different technologies is required in the country. Nevertheless, the energy headquarter is obligated to develop strategic technologies proportional to the essential needs of the country. Therefore, development of some technologies has been considered based on prioritization in this field.

He also talked about the prioritization of internet of things in optimization of energy, especially in areas of building, electric cars, technology of using RDF in industry (specifically cement), localization of chemical compound and catalyst production, improving production and excess harvest, smart network and software of electricity market, energy saving systems, the third generation of solar cells and use of blockchain technology in the energy field.

Secretary of energy technologies development headquarter stated that currently, development of knowledge-based companies can fill the gap in this area. He marked: on the other hand, the quality and quantity of educational content must be updated proportional to the needs of knowledge-based economy and entrepreneurial ecosystem of the country. It seems that the measures taken up to this date have failed to institutionalize the chain of science, technology and production.
