According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Abbas Haghparast, manager of the laboratory and research center of neuroscience of Shahid Beheshti University, stated about the activities of this center: currently, we evaluate basic mechanisms of acute and chronic pain in the laboratory. Another part of activities performed in this laboratory is related to the reward system, which is regarded as primary processes to create addiction. Three important behavioral, electrophysiological and molecular approaches are regarded in all of these activities. We mainly deal with two "dopaminergic" and "noradrenergic" neurotransmitters in the majority of performed activities. However, the noradrenergic is a new system and our laboratory is one of the most important laboratories in the world. In addition, a molecular laboratory and two behavioral laboratories are other sections of this center. Design of multiple researches has been carried out in the laboratory with the support of cognitive sciences and technologies development headquarter.

Haghparast also explained about holding the Ibro school: in addition, 3-4 years ago, the activities in the area of cognitive neuroscience, which are somehow closer to the areas of cognitive sciences and technologies development headquarter, have been initiated and Ibro was held with the cooperation of the headquarter as the first international school. In this school, representatives from India, Pakistan, South Africa and China participated, which led to their close cooperation and interactions. The main approach of this school is to bring individuals from various countries together, which has been generalized by forming committees in different continents known as the Asian agency. Moreover, the next educational contents will be provided by the support of the headquarter in October 2018.
