Sattari: The university is the source of changes in the knowledge-based economy
The visit of Sorena Sattari, Vice President of Science and Technology, to Qazvin, which brought good events for the province's technology and innovation ecosystem by opening of several inaugurations ended with a meeting of the province's resistance economy.
The Vice President for Science and Technology said in the meeting: "In the field of knowledge-based economy, Qazvin province has inherent capacities that can be referred to the existence of capable human resources in the province." Qazvin is one of the leading provinces in terms of the number of students.
The head of the culture knowledge-based economy headquarters also said: "Therefore everyone must cooperate with the development of technology and innovation ecology in the province." There is no point in relying on government money. This money can only be used to develop research infrastructure and basic research. Production from research is possible with private sector investment.
According to him, ecosystems, including incubators, innovation centers, knowledge-based companies, innovation factories, science and technology parks and accelerators, should be created and highlight the role of the private sector in investing in research. When there is a proper business environment and a complete ecosystem in the province, it attracts capable human resources. In recent years, there have been good changes in the technology and innovation ecosystem of Qazvin province, although it is not enough.
The Vice President of Science and Technology pointed out that manpower is valuable in a knowledge-based and innovative economy. He said: Vice Presidency of Science and Technology is fully prepared to develop the infrastructure of this ecosystem and support the educated youth in the province. Of course, the area of innovation is also one of the issues that we need to expand in the province, and we are ready to cooperate in this regard.
Sattari pointed to the activities of 5,300 knowledge-based companies in the country and added: "These companies had sales of 120,000 billion tomans last year." There are also technology companies on the stock exchange boards, which were valued at 150 billion tomans. Large companies have not yet entered the stock market and are assessing to enter.
According to him, the university is part of society. Education that does not play a role in economics and life is worthless. All our efforts over the years have been to promote entrepreneurship in universities. Therefore, ecology must be created in Qazvin to attract the youth of the province from the best universities. A knowledge-based economy will not be formed in the province if there is no such ecosystem. Of course, in the last 6 years, we have witnessed good events in the province.
Continuing the meeting, Qazvin Governor Hedayatullah Jamalipoor said: Qazvin is an important province in the fields of agriculture, industry, mining, services and tourism. In the field of science, there are good capacities due to the existence of different universities. Of course, these scientific capacities have not been used well, which must be addressed.
