A joint cooperation agreement was signed between the Vice Presidency of Science and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment of the Republic of Cuba

Simultaneously with the visit of Cuban President Miguel Diaz and his delegation to Tehran, this morning a joint cooperation agreement was signed between the Vice Presidency of Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment of the Republic of Cuba.

According to the communication and information center in the Vice Presidency of Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, the purpose and scope of this agreement is to promote and develop scientific and technological cooperation based on the principles of equality and mutual benefit, in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations through the development of cooperation projects. Also, other goals are including joint in the fields of science and nanotechnology, biotechnology, climate change and other areas agreed by the parties, exchanging or appointing scientists and researchers to carry out joint projects or sharing experiences, transferring or exchanging technology in the fields of science, technology and innovation, organizing or supporting holding symposiums, conferences, forums, seminars, workshops and training courses in areas of mutual interest, forming a joint working committee and establishing a joint science and technology center.

According to Article 2 of this agreement, the parties have agreed to encourage and promote cooperation in the fields of science and technology policy research, research and development performance evaluation, statistical studies, information services and other related matters, in order to develop a strategic partnership for the implementation of joint projects, and also agreement to jointly seek financial support.

In order to advance and promote the implementation of this memorandum, the representatives of the cooperating parties are obliged to present a report on the progress of the works of interest to the parties and conduct discussions regarding the necessary measures within the framework of the joint science and technology working committee, to hold a meeting at least once a year in virtual or in person form.
