According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, development of comprehensive stem cells and regenerative medicine centers in the country is one of the acts performed by the stem cells sciences and technologies development headquarter. In this regard, these centers are under construction in 10 scientific poles and cities such as Tehran, Tabriz, Shiraz, Ahvaz, Kerman and Zanjan.

Meanwhile, the comprehensive stem cells and regenerative medicine center of Tehran University of Medical Sciences is one of the largest centers that prepares infrastructures for equipment and establishment of similar centers. The establishment of the center has been initiated by signing a cooperation agreement between Tehran University of Medical Sciences and stem cells sciences and technologies development headquarter.

Amir Ali Hamidieh, the secretary of the stem cells sciences and technologies development headquarter, visited the preparation stages of the center accompanied by Mohammad Ali Sahraeian, the vice-chancellor for research and technology of Tehran University of Medical Sciences. During this visit, the knowledge-based companies explained about their products.

He continued: formation of comprehensive centers accelerates the pace of moving toward this direction since their structure is not similar to a research center. In fact, innovative and creative individuals and the best teams gather here to expand their activities. Scientific and treatment centers are provided to the whole country by these centers.

According to this report, the comprehensive stem cells and regenerative medicine center empowers, grows, manages and leads the capacity of idea owners, technologists and entrepreneurs. Encompassing six specialized laboratories, the center is active in three areas of knowledge production and training human resources, developing advanced technologies and expanding clinical services.
