According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, despite the long history of activities in the area of animation industry in the country, no proper statistics have been provided on the performance and processes of this area.

In this regard, the soft and identity-making technologies has aimed to collect data on this area in 2016 and establish a statistical website with the address of animationstat.ir due to its role in the industries of culture and ethics.

The statistical book of industry of animation in Iran has been provided with the cooperation of activists and beneficiaries of this industry, including the ministry of science, research and technology, ministry of Islamic guidance and culture, institute for the intellectual development of children and young adults, Saba Animation Center, private companies and other related organizations.

Some of the benefits of this book include raising the knowledge of investors of the private sector about the potentials of this industry, creating valid indexes and criteria to implement the strategies, development of educational infrastructures in proportion to the current processes and capacities of the industry, recognition of the actual and potential abilities of this industry by global society, proper development of screening capacities and digital and physical distribution networks.

In addition to extract of the available statistics and numbers, field research and questionnaires were also used due to inefficient level of information, which was significantly welcomed by activists of this industry, showing the importance of this statistical book in the development of the industry.

In this research, five production, publication and distribution, screening, education and showcasing sections were assessed.

It is noteworthy that in the production statistics section, considering of all people was not possible due to the high number of unofficial groups and their activities. Therefore, just the official companies were assessed. 

The mentioned book is the first edition of statistical book on the industry of animation in the country in 2016, which will be annually updated. We hope that this book is a valuable and effective resource in the growth and development process of animation industry.
