The first national sea biotechnology conference was held with the support of biotechnology development headquarter.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, the first national sea biotechnology conference was held with the main topics of “production and occupation creation”, “evaluation of capacities in the area of marine biotechnology”, “future of human life” and “cleaning of wastewater entering the Persian gulf”.

Morteza Yousefizadeh, executive secretary of the conference, introduced the aim of the event to be providing an appropriate situation for graduates and activists of marine environment field, adding: graduates and activists of this field can perform entrepreneurial acts and produce new products through knowledge-based companies.

Rahim Sarvari, deputy of biotechnology development headquarter, stated about the conference: Hormozgan has taken an important step toward marine environment by returning marine educational capacities and adding higher education to this area.

He continued: soon, the marine biotechnology workgroup will be established to recognize and use the marine capacities of the country in the biotechnology development headquarter.

Sarvari also asserted: improving the capacities of knowledge-based companies for wealth production from marine biotechnology is on the agenda of the headquarter. In addition, facilities are provided by the headquarter to support investment, occupation and product creation, which are gained after investigating the projects.
