According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, talked about the formation of the foundation for innovation and creativity by turning Tehran into a smart city on the opening ceremony of festival and exhibition of “Smart City” in the presence of mayor of Tehran and knowledge-based companies. In this regard, he stated: all sections of the city must be turned into a proper foundation for development of creativity and innovations of educated youth and their moving toward the path of entrepreneurship. He mentioned the elimination of limitations in this area, expressing: limitations will be removed from smart cities and universities will be turned into a part of urban furniture, helping the city toward the path of development and progress.

President of the knowledge-based economy, technology and science development headquarter pointed out that smart city guide citizens toward innovation and creativity by presenting new concepts, affirming: in the near future, education will not be limited to traditional methods, and education will continue from birth to death. Therefore, a creative city with new methods will educate citizens at all times, introducing new concepts of innovation and technology.

The vice president for science and technology affairs regarded government employment to be contradictory with the spirit of innovation and creativity.

Sattari considered the formation of innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem as the only solution to leave this culture.

According to Sattari, activities of more than 3500 knowledge-based companies and thousands of startups are due to the formation of entrepreneurship ecosystem and income of 400 billion for the country are some of the achievements of activities of these businesses.

Growth of Startup Occupation by Smart City

In this conference, Mohammad Javad Azari Jahromi, minister of information and communication technology, regarded the solving of challenge of occupation and innovation based on information and communication technologies startups as one of the achievements of smart city.

Minister of communication also emphasized the formation of indicators in this type of city.

Mohammad Ali Najafi, mayor of Tehran, regarded the participation of people as an essential part of successful implementation of smart city.

Visit of Achievements of Active Startups in the Area of Smart City

Along with the conference, the vice president for science and technology affairs, along with the mayor of Tehran, visited the exhibition of technological achievements of 50 startups and knowledge-based companies in the area of urban new services, smart education, urban and environmental management.

Conference of smart city of Tehran will be held March 4^th-5^th,2018 in Milad Tower of Tehran by the support of the municipality of Tehran and support of the Vice-Presidency to hold six key lectures, 11 specialized workshops and specialized panels in seven areas and competition of 50 specialized startups in the area of smart city.
