According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, I3DL is an international license provided for 3D-printing knowledge by ZAMSTEC institute of Austria. In Iran, this course is held by the advanced manufacturing and materials technologies development headquarter and with the cooperation of ZAMSTEC institute.
Attendees of this course will pass 12 modules (units). The first and second units are basic, the 3-11 units can be selected and the 12th unit is practical internship or a thesis on 3D printing. Introducing the technology of 3D printing, working with 3D printers, new and innovative materials and filaments, creating their own 3D printer, creating a robot using a 3D printer, innovation and new models of business using a 3D printer and simulation, engineering with computer and application of limited element method in 3D printing are some of the topics of educational units.
In addition, five levels of international licenses will be provided for participants according passing the units. The I3DL license is the basic level provided after passing the first two units (prerequisites of other units). The middle level of this license will be provided after passing four units. The two one and two units are obligatory and another two units from 3-11 can be selected by participants. The complementary level is for those who have passed six units, where units one, two and 12 are obligatory and another three units must be selected by participants. The advanced level of the license will be provided for those who pass 10 units. The one, two and 12 units are obligatory and another seven units must be selected by attendees. The official instructor license is given to those who pass all of the 12 units. In addition, the applicants must have a minimum of two years of teaching experience in third generation universities. Otherwise, they must pass teaching methodology 1 and 2 courses presented by the ZAMSTEC institute.
The second round of the specialized 3D-printing workshops and provision of I3DL international license will be initiated from March 3rd 2018 in the advanced production institute of Iran based in the science and industry university.
