According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Kamal Kharazi, secretary of cognitive technologies development headquarter, explained about the goals and activities of this headquarter in development of cognitive sciences in the country, stating: the cognitive science has an interdisciplinary nature and can be beneficial in recognition of brain applications and evaluation of cognitive and social mental phenomenon by using various fields.

Kharazi continued: the science of psychology is changing due to advancement in cognitive sciences and emergence of novel technologies in review of brain. If psychology was carried out in the past by analyzing the behaviors of human beings without access or knowledge about their brain, advanced imaging techniques and brain signal recording and electrical and magnetic simulations of the skull and implant of electrode on the brain and other scientific methods have been introduced today as laboratory and experimental science.

Kharazi mentioned the facing with complicated phenomenon in social issues, regarding the formation of behaviors in the society due to the collective performance of human brain. In this regard, he affirmed: use of the big data, which is present in social media and the cyberspace, leads to estimation of social sciences, which is one of the subscales of cognitive sciences. This results in creation of models governing the collective behavior and better recognition of social phenomenon.

Secretary of cognitive technologies development headquarter continued: in order to recognize these phenomenon, an interdisciplinary attitude must be encouraged in universities more than ever to create stronger interactions between specialized groups and professors of various fields to review the events. Instead of departments, some of the top universities of the world have form specialized groups for solving problems, where professors can gather to solve an issue.
