The strategic headquarters for comprehensive map of science of the country announced the evaluation and approval of some sections of the national document for development of biotechnology of the country on the last meeting of the headquarter.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, at the end of the 104^th meeting of the strategic headquarter of the comprehensive map of the country, an article with the title of biotechnology of water and sea sources was added to the national document of biotechnology development.

This involves all types of algae, micro algae, knowledge-based products in the area of biotechnology of water resources for development, commercialization and recognition. In the area of strategies, national measures related to strategies 3-7 were approved with a proper quality.

The number three strategy on commercialization of research and technology achievements and number four strategy for export of commercialized products are approved with modifications in a number of national measures in this regard.

Standardization in the area of biotechnology was predicted with five measures, some of which were integrated, such as national reference laboratories. National reference laboratories, laboratory networks, design of regulations of this area and development of cooperation with the national standard organization are mentioned in this document.

The strategy number six involves the development of cooperation and synergy at the international level, where important concepts are approved after modifications, such as use of international opportunities while maintaining the national materials, providing the necessary support in the relevant areas, observing the area of biotechnology and genetic sources, support of registration of joint knowledge-based companies and special associations in the region, as well as providing the necessary infrastructures for recruitment and use of non-resident Iranian experts in this field.

The strategy number seven is support and exploitation of genetic sources, where the application of modern technology systems in biological boarders of the country, commercialization and regulation of commercialization of genetic and biological resources, approved with some modifications. The next two strategies, which are the necessities for regulation of the document, will be evaluated in this year.
