The penetration and prosperity of the knowledge-based economy in areas such as energy, due to its importance and high capacity for value creation, is one of the priorities in the Vice Presidency of Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy.

In view of this necessity, Ruhollah Dehghani, the vice president of science, technology and knowledge-based economy, appointed Akbar Zamanian as the secretary of the knowledge-based economy development headquarters in the field of energy. It is stated in the text of Dehghani's edict addressed to Zamanian:

"In view of the level of competence and experience, according to this order, I appoint you as the secretary of the headquarters for the development of knowledge-based economy in the field of energy. Considering the high goals of this deputy and the need for planning and transformation to improve the status of the country, the following assigned missions are expected from you in interaction with the deputy of knowledge-based economy development:

Playing a maximum role in the development of the ecosystem of technological innovation and the knowledge-based economy in the field of energy, creating capacity and planning for the annual promotion of the share of the knowledge-based economy in the energy field in the country's gross domestic product by 8%, the development of the market of the knowledge-based economy in the energy field with interest, taking the capacity of the technology and innovation ecosystem, forming specialized consortia in the field of energy to manage consumption, improving security, optimizing and diversifying the country's energy portfolio, helping exports and creating a platform for the entry of knowledge-based companies into global markets in the field of energy, providing a plan for development economy-oriented cooperation in the field of energy with all related government institutions and organizations and large players in the private sector with a long-term view for maximum utilization of existing power and infrastructure, implementation of economy-oriented, driving and strategic projects in the field of energy using the capacity of knowledge-based companies and technology, based on the notification of the steering center of the special headquarters for the development of knowledge-based economy, the maximum utilization of all the capacities foreseen in the knowledge-based production leap law and other upstream documents to achieve the assigned goals, definition, preparation and management of the portfolio of technology and knowledge-based programs in the field of energy In cooperation with other relevant departments, promoting the participation and cooperation of elites in identifying and solving issues and problems in the field of energy, coordination and close cooperation with other public and private decision-making and executive bodies.

I ask Almighty God for continued success in following the wise instructions of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution and the policies of the people's government. I hereby appreciate the efforts and efforts of Mr. Dr. Sharifzadeh during his tenure of this responsibility and I wish him prosperity and success from the Almighty God.

Zamanian received his doctorate degree in chemical engineering from Tehran University of Technology.

Among his executive records, it can be mentioned as a member of the board of directors and the head of the downstream campus of the Oil Industry Research Institute, the representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the scientific committee of the Research Institute of Gas Exporting Countries (GECF), a member of the Supreme Research Council of the National Gas Company of Iran, the head of the Gas Research Institute, the representative of the Republic Islamic Iran and Chairman of the OPEC Gas Conversion Research Working Group (OPEC), established and headed the Gas Processing Institute, director of the group and research projects, as well as management and cooperation in the implementation of several industrial and research projects.

Among other activities and achievements of Zamani can be mentioned as, publishing 70 articles in prestigious international journals, presenting 65 articles in prestigious domestic and foreign conferences, registering 15 patents and technical knowledge, authoring two book titles, obtaining 11 titles of top researcher and technologist in the country and The Ministry of Petroleum and also the title of exemplary director of the Ministry of Petroleum in 2021.
