“Brain Awareness Week” is an event for promotion of knowledge and increase of the public’s awareness of brain structure and functions.

This week must be regarded a global event for the promotion and interest in neuroscience research held every year with the support of the cognitive sciences and technologies development headquarter.

Similar to previous years, this round of the event will be held in different provinces to witness the increase of people’s knowledge of their brains in holding different programs.

In this regard and in order to better hold this round of the event, the “Brain Awareness Week” was held in the presence of Seyed Kamal Kharazi, senior advisor to the vice president for science and technology affairs in the area of cognitive sciences development.

In the meeting attended by investors in the field of health and education, municipality managers, scientific associations and public organizations, the areas of cooperation, coordination and partnership efforts for holding the fifth year of Brain Awareness Week were discussed.

Mohammad Taghi Joghataei, the senior advisor of the cognitive sciences and technologies development headquarter, emphasized the promotion of cognitive asset in the society, expressing: with the support and planning of the headquarter, various activities in the field of the brain and awareness of the function and structures of this vital part of the human body and its empowerment are formulated and implemented at the community level.

He also marked: the fifth round of Brain Awareness Week is held consecutively to provide education and evaluate research projects to lay the foundation for identification of brain-related diseases and disorders in two children and adult levels.

According to Joghataei, efforts are being made during this week to increase the level of knowledge and information of the brain"s abilities, as well as ways to prevent the decline of the brain"s ability to segregate across society through the use of capacities and capabilities.

According to the report, the brain awareness week is a global campaign for improving public interest to neuroscience research, held by the union of brain researches and European Wise Union since 1996 every year. The brain research union is a private organization encompassing prominent neuroscientists that supports the slogan of the entry door to valid information about brain, brain-related research through financial support, and publication of educational programs and content. The main goals of the union are improving brain functions, accelerating the discovery of brain disorder treatment and fighting the labeling of brain disorders through the training provided.
