New phenomena have occurred in the country by the efforts of activists in the innovation and technology ecosystem along with global attempts. Iran has advanced significantly in this field and has dedicated efforts to reaching the tenth rank in the world.
The stem cells sciences and technologies development headquarter has aimed to use the scientific capacity of the country to improve activities in this area.
Today, Iran has been ranked first in terms of article production in the area of stem cells and regenerative medicine, and increase of financial and spiritual investment in this field will lead to better positions in the region and the world.
Therefore, considering the special position of this superior technology in the world and its therapeutic importance and economic value for the society and priorities the field of knowledge among the comprehensive scientific map of the country. The headquarter has been assigned the responsibility of implementation of the national stem cells science and technology document. In this case, the provision of extensive clinical services at the national level will be accelerated by identifying the active elites in this field of science and training specialized human resources.
Other goals of the headquarter include reaching 90% national self-efficiency in the production of lab equipment, gaining 2% of the value of the global market related to stem cells, production of new knowledge and technology to reach the tenth rank in the world, participation of the private sector in research, development of technology and wealth production and achieving autonomy in different national cell banks.
Meanwhile, one of the basic approaches of the headquarter is networking the innovation system of stem cells and making proper interactions with the activists of the field. In this regard, the headquarter has aimed to establish a network of stem cells activists, a system to record the information of activists, including professors, researchers, students, school students, units and companies. Opening a laboratory network at the regional level will synergize activities and provide transparent information along with avoiding rework and parallel work.
