Biotechnology is in the blood of Iranians. This issue has been constantly emphasized by the vice president for science and technology affairs, and statistics existing on the growth of biotechnology in Iran approves this belief.

The fact that science production is more advanced in this field, compared to other sciences, is in line with these beliefs.

According to the statistics, Iran is ranked 16^th in terms of article production in all fields, which is 12 in the biotechnology field, meaning than this area is four ranks above other sciences.

The advancement of biotechnology in the field of biomedical science is also well represented, and the number of bio-biomedicals in the country has reached more than 460. A figure that in the face of tough sanctions and economic hardship can promise good things in this area.

Growth of Drug Industry with the Help of Biotechnologies

Mostafa Ghanei, the secretary of biotechnology development headquarter, stated: in the past decade, the biotechnology field has soared, in a way that the country’s rank in the field of drug industry has improved in the past five years owing to the development of biotechnology. Today, we are ranked first in Asia. According to Ghanei, we are among the top five countries of Asia in the biotechnology field. If we compare this rank with the vision of the country, we see that we are far more advanced than the expected rate and have no competitors in this area.
