Smart transportation system is one that improves efficiency and safety of transportation systems with the help of a series of information, specialties and facilities. What happened in the world began in the early 1990s, and developed countries have been studying, designing, and expanding these systems ever since.
However, Iran entered the field with a delay, and the actors of smart transportation thought about using the capacities of information and communication technologies in the development of this applied industry.
