According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, during a meeting in the presence of Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, Mohammad Reza Hosseinzadeh, member of the board of Melli bank, agreements were signed between information, communication and cyberspace technologies development headquarter, Melli bank and Sharif University of Technology to cooperate on the establishment and development of accelerators and innovation centers and use of storage technology and data processing.

Melli Bank Can Lay the Foundation for Development of Technology in the Area of Currency and Banking

During this meeting, Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, regarded the created cooperation between Melli bank and the Vice-Presidency as the path toward the development of new businesses, stating: support of startups must be directed from loans toward venture capitals. Fortunately, Melli bank can lay the foundations for development of technology in the area of currency and banking by entering this area.

The vice president for science and technology affairs expressed his content with the entrance of Melli bank to the area of support of innovation and technology in a startup ecosystem, expressing: as the largest government bank, Melli bank can lay an appropriate foundation for development of various technologies, especially the area of currency. Moreover, Sattari introduced Melli bank as the strong support for the countrys science and technology, emphasizing: knowledge in the country requires comprehensive support, which fortunately the Melli Bank of Iran has been a leader in this field.

During the meeting, Khatuni, member of the board and deputy of information technology of Melli bank, pointed out the need of banking networks for information storage equipment, affirming: with regard to the essential need of Melli bank to information storage equipment, establishment of an innovation center is required to provide financial services. We hope that the established cooperation will lead to more advances in this area.

He also stated: Melli bank intends to use the ideas of elites to provide new services for people.

In addition, Mahdi Faghihi, secretary of information, communication and cyberspace technologies development headquarter, regarded this agreement to be in line with performing market creating tasks of the headquarter.

Mohammad Reza Hosseinzadeh announced the preparedness of Melli bank of Iran to enter new innovative fields and help the formation and development of new businesses.

Cooperation Agreement on Establishment and Development of an Accelerator and Innovation Center

In terms of a cooperation agreement to establish and develop an accelerator and an innovation center, the information, communication and cyberspace technologies development headquarter as the first party of the agreement is responsible for technical support of establishment of this center and taking the necessary steps to expedite obtaining the necessary permissions. In this regard, supply and provision of information resources and financial supports can lead to the support of commercialization and marketing of activities of startups in Melli bank. Eventually, progress can be made in the startup area by regula reports of developments.  

At the end, Sharif University of Technology was obligated to create the foundations for establishment of this accelerator as the third party of the contract, in a way that complete reports on advancement in these scientific currents could be provided and the presented projects in the accelerator could be monitored, while holding relevant entrepreneurial events in cooperation with the information, communication and cyberspace technologies development headquarter. 

Cooperation Agreement on Using the Technology of “High-performance Data Storage and Processing”

In this meeting, the second agreement in line with using the domestic technology of “high-performance data storage and processing” was signed by three government organizations of Melli bank, Sharif University of Technology and the information, communication and cyberspace technologies development headquarter. As the largest government bank, the Melli bank can apply the domestic technology instead of foreign storage techniques to develop the market and be a good sample for the market.

According to this agreement, use of data storage was initiated in Melli bank and the first relevant purchase was performed. This domestic technology has been developed by the information and communication technologies research center of Sharif University of Technology and by the support of the information, communication and cyberspace technologies development headquarter with the aim of market creating.

At the end of the meeting, Sattari visited the Melli bank museum and regarded the measures taken by this center to establish a museum as a lasting legacy in the banking system.
