The Winner of Mustafa Prize Engineered Corona Vaccine

The Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs established the Mustafa Fund to develop scientific exchanges and support of scientists in the Islamic world. In each round of the prize, the fund awards top scientists of Iran and the Islamic world. Professor Ugur Sahin, one of the winners of Mustafa Prize, has engineered corona vaccine.

Mustafa Prize, called after the prophet of Islam, has caused very positive interactions among scientists of the Islamic world. The Vice-Presidency has been able to strengthen the emotional and scientific relations between top elites and scientists of the Islamic world with Iran and the innovation and science ecosystem by establishing this valid scientific event.

World news agencies announced that the vaccine co-produced by BioNTech and Pfizer has tested positive in more than 90% of human experiments, and by the end of this year, about 15-20 million doses of this vaccine will be produced.

This vaccine is the result of the research work of the group of Professor Ugur Sahin, a professor at the University of Mainz and a winner of the 2019 Mustafa Scientific Award at the German company BioNTech.

The American company Pfizer and the German company BioNTech announced that the joint vaccine of the two companies was tested on 43,500 people in six countries and no health and safety related concerns were observed.

Preliminary analyzes show that the Covid-19 vaccine made by the two companies can protect more than 90% of people from Covid-19.
