Tehran Became the Science and Technology Capital City of the Islamic World

According to the public relations and information center of the presidency scientific and technological vice presidency, Parviz Karami, the president of the knowledge-based science, technology and economy culture development headquarter of the scientific vice presidency today morning at the margin of the intimate meeting with reporters said: By the entrance of a group of Muslim scientists from different Islamic countries, Mustafa prize started to work and the 20th annual summit of the academy of science of the Islamic world will be held in Tehran in the beginning of the next week with the presence of these scientists.

Karami stated about holding the 20th annual summit of the academy of science of the Islamic world: This summit will be held with the slogan of “science, technology and innovation: creating the human’s joint future”.

According to the presidency scientific and technological vice president’s consultant, based on this, 40 scientist and experts who are members of the academy of science of the Islamic world from 21 countries of the world will attend this summit.

The president of the knowledge-based science, technology and economy culture development headquarter of the scientific vice presidency explained about the international members of the policy council of the Mustafa prize: Islamic Development Bank, the science academy of the Islamic world, University of Karachi and University of Malay, the president of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution, the ministers of science and research and technology, health and medical education, foreign affairs, the heads of the science and investigation commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, the hygiene and treatment commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, the Academy of science, Academy of medical sciences, the department of Islamic culture and communication, University of Tehran, Sharif University of Technology, the Al-Mustafa Al-Alamieh society, dignified organizations and Iranian scientific institutes are members of this council.

Karami noted: Based on the executive document of Mustafa prize, Soorena Sattari, the presidency scientific and technological vice president is the head of the policy council of this prize.

The president of the knowledge-based science, technology and economy culture development headquarter of the scientific vice presidency said about the favorite people of Mustafa prize up to this moment: Professor Jackie Ying, the chief officer and faculty of the Nano technology and life engineering institute from Singapore and professor Omar Yaghi from Jordan, the head of the Cowley Nano Energy Sciences Institute and faculty of University of California, Berkeley; won the Mustafa award in prize in the fields of the of the superior work in BioNano sciences and technologies and the superior work in Nano sciences and technology respectively.

Karami by stating that the Mustafa prize pursues two important projects continued: The first project is constructing a donated building with cooperation of the Islamic Development Bank. The second project is allocating a donated land in Tehran to the donation fund of Mustafa prize with partnership of donors. Public Underwriting for the donation fund of Mustafa prize is one important thing to be mentioned.

 

The Mustafa prize will recognize its favorites on Friday, December 25th during a ceremony at the Vahdat saloon with the presence of foreign and municipal guests and will continue to December 29th by holding different programs.
