Development of Startups by Role-playing of the Youth

Over the past few years, these startups have been able to properly growth. Moreover, there has been a quick growth in international registration of patents of the youth, and it is expected that the WIPO will be able to help us in patent registration of this entrepreneurial youth.

President of the national elites foundation also asserted: change of attitude from resource-based economy to knowledge-based economy is a difficult task. In addition, there are some problems regarding the report on global indicator of innovation due to lack of intraorganizational interactions. Therefore, our interactions with WIPO are significantly important.

Growing Trend of Patent Registration

During the meeting, Gurry, general director of WIPO, pointed out the report on global indicator of innovation (GII), which is annually prepared by the center, stating: the rank stated in this report is not indicative of the actual abilities of Iran.

He continued: the proper performance of Iran in the area of startups is admirable, and we understand all of the endeavors of Iran in the area of innovation. In addition, innovation is the center of attention in many other countries of the world and regional nations.

In another part of his speech, general director of WIPO, talked about the increased demand for patent registration, marking: with regard to the growing trend of this area, there is a need for trained evaluators. However, evaluation is a difficult concept since a part of assessment is carried out based on market demand and audiences.

Holding Workshops Relevant to Intellectual Property

Gurry also asserted: however, what is more important is education of the financial section since investors have no willingness to invest in areas with intangible asserts. In addition, development of property market for venture capitals is significantly difficult. Therefore, presence of an area that can be focused on is crucial. However, measures taken in this regard may vary based on the condition of each country. In general, workshops will be held to persuade investors to invest in this field.

In the end, it was decided to hold workshops related to intellectual property for regional countries, including Iran. In the past, some technology evaluation workshops were held in Iran with the help of WIPO. Nevertheless, training of young legal evaluators was one of the issues covered in this meeting.
