The Vice President of Science and Technology traveled to Kenya for the second time at the head of a 40-member delegation including knowledge-based and creative companies.

Announcing this news, Parviz Karami, Advisor to the Vice President of Science and Technology, said: "Sorena Sattari, Vice President of Science and Technology, headed a delegation of knowledge-based and creative companies to Kenya to strengthen the atmosphere of joint technological and trade cooperation between the two countries."

Karami added: in this delegation, representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Innovation and Prosperity Fund, 40 representatives of knowledge-based, technology and creative companies and heads of several research and technology funds, accompany the Vice President of Science and Technology.

 The Secretary of the for Culture and Knowledge-Based Economy and Development of Soft and Creative Industries Headquarters in the Vice Presidency of Science and Technology stated that during the last visit, 45 knowledge-based, technology and creative companies accompanied Sattari. He added: This year 40 companies accompanies the Vice President of Science and Technology to the east of Africa.

Expanding knowledge-based exports to East Africa

Karami spoke about the field of activity of knowledge-based and creative companies that accompany Sattari: including companies active in the fields of health, medical equipment, herbal and chemical drugs, information and communication technology, content production, chemical, electrical and electronics industries, advanced technologies of industrial machinery and Technical and engineering services, mining industries and several startups are accompanying the Vice President of Science and Technology on this trip.

The head of the Communication and Information Center in the Vice Presidency of Science and Technology, referring to the bilateral meeting between Iranian and Kenyan companies, said: In this 3-day trip, representatives of 40 Iranian knowledge-based, technology and creative companies meets 100 Kenyan companies in a business and technology. They are working to create a common space for bilateral cooperation and export of products and services to the parties.

 Karami continued: "These meetings will lead to the expansion of the export goals of these companies." In the continuation of this trip, Iranian companies will also visit the innovation centers and technological complexes and infrastructures of Kenya to get acquainted with the capacities and capabilities of the technology field in this country.

 Inauguration of the Innovation Center

Karami said that one of the plans for this trip is the opening of the Iranian Innovation and Technology Center in Kenya. He said that this center was established in a joint cooperation between the Vice Presidency of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to be a space for presenting achievements and Scientific and technological capabilities of Iranian companies in Kenya and Africa.

The Head of the Culture and Knowledge-Based Economy and the Development of Soft and Creative Industries Headquarters continued: The Iran Innovation Center in Kenya has created a collaborative and dedicated workspace, a meeting hall and a permanent exhibition of Iranian technological products. Kenyan export brokers at the center are ready to provide services to companies seeking exports.

Meeting with Iranians living in Kenya

Adviser to the Vice President of Science and Technology mentioned the visit to two innovation centers "IHub" and "NairobiGarage" as other programs of this trip and said: "These two centers are among the leading and special technological centers of this country and will host the Vice President for Science." And technology will accompany the president and the delegation.

 Karami also stated: After visiting these two centers, the Vice President of Science and Technology will have an intimate meeting with Iranians living in Kenya and will sit down for talks with them. Meeting with Kenyan ministers and counterparts is another agenda of the three-day visit for the Vice President of Science and Technology to Kenya.
