Using the capacity of the inventions registered by Iranian inventors and presenting services of patent registration to foreign companies based in China have been among the priorities of the commercialization office of the patent office of the Vice-Presidency. The office provides an opportunity to present the products of technological companies in international markets. The commercialization office of the patent office has been opened for two years now. The main goal of the office is promoting revenue generation from patents so that entering the international markets could be accelerated by using the capacity of the inventions registered by Iranian inventors and patent registration services provided to foreign companies based in China.

Given the high potential of the market in countries such as China and Southeast Asian countries and some neighboring countries, the main focus of the patent office’s commercialization section is on these countries. In this regard, various cooperation programs have been made with the commercialization office of the Vice-Presidency in the mentioned countries at the international level, and coordination has been made with some companies that provide technology commercialization services in China such as WTOIP.

Providing patent services and patent analysis, as well as holding intellectual property training workshops, are other programs defined for this office.

Given the full knowledge that the center"s experts have of patents registered by Iranian inventors, identifying the best technologies that can be commercialized in international markets and introducing them to the market, as well as marketing for these technologies are the main priority of the office. There was also another program called the Active Plan, which monitored invent-based technologies and in-person visits to innovation and technology centers (such as universities and research centers) to identify technologies available to global markets.

With the implementation of the above programs, a number of technologies that were evaluated by the experts of the center that can be presented in international markets, have been referred to the commercialization office and negotiations were conducted for commercialization of these products with the association"s colleagues in offices of other countries. Carrying out market studies, attending specialized exhibitions and organizing match-making meetings are among the measures taken by the commercial office of Iran patent office for selected products. In addition, the representative of the commercialization office in China attended the international nanotechnology exhibition held in October 2019 in order to learn about nano products and technologies and perform the primary tasks to prepare products for commercialization.
