The progress of marine bioengineering in Iran has accelerated with the help of scientists and accelerators. A movement that aims to create the necessary platform for economic productivity of marine bio-technological products and promotes the knowledge and development of culture in this scientific field for the acquisition of wealth and public welfare.

According to Mohammad Pourkazemi, the head of the marine biotechnology working group, the development of this maritime industry in the country is pursued by supporting the programs and priorities of marine biotechnology in the country and supporting the knowledge-based companies in this field.

“Creating a roadmap for the development of marine bio-technology, "assessing the capacity and prioritizing the potential marine organisms in this scientific field", and "preparing support and incentive packages to launch new businesses in this field" are among the priorities for the development of marine biotechnology in the country.

According to the head of the marine biotechnology working group, "support and encouragement of the private sector and knowledge-based companies to bring marine bio-technological compounds to market", “and "the use of marine biotechnological compounds in industry and capacity assessment of the country"s need for marine biotechnological products in the pharmaceutical, food, medical and energy industries" are some of the measures considered in the working group.
