A Report on the Condition of Payam Special Economic Zone
The aim of establishment of Payam special economic zone is transportation of aerial and post cargo, processing of goods, warehousing, cold storage services, packaging industries and export. In this regard, a joint cooperation has been recently signed with the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs in order create development in the industrial parts of the country by basing knowledge-based companies in this region.
According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, a joint cooperation agreement was signed between Payam Aerial Service Co. and the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs in order to base ICT and knowledge-based companies in Payam special economy zone, which will result in various forms of motivations and supports in the future.
The international airport and Payam special economic zone are located between the range of mountains of Alborz and Mahdasht town of Karaj 8.1258 meters (4170 feet) above the sea level. This special region is placed 55 km west of Tehran Province and in the heart of Alborz Province in one of the best areas of the country in terms of weather.
The knowledge-based company of Ghaem Parshan, which is an equipment production company in IOT and ICT areas, is one of the industrial companies based in this region. In addition, the pet scan center of cancer diagnosis has been establish in this company. Fardavar group company is active in production of blood bags and has the capacity of production of 10 million blood bags in a year, 2.5 million of which are domestically used and the rest are exported. This company has provided jobs for 400 individuals in a space with the area of seven thousand m2 and is currently active in Payam special economic zone.
Moreover, the center of airplane engine repair and production of automobile electronic pieces is another company based in this area.
According to this report, Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, visited the special economic zone and international airport of Payam and talked with the managers and specialists of the companies based in this region. It is noteworthy that Sattari was accompanied by Mahdi Faghihi, secretary of information, communication and cyberspace technologies development headquarter.
