According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, stated on the unveiling ceremony of technological projects of Yazd: perspective toward the functions and cities has undergone serious alternations, and cities will soon play a significant role in innovation in various areas, including education.

Sattari pointed out the increasing changes in the educational system and mentioned that the structure of our educational system is changing rapidly. He also expressed that today, education is not limited to the academic years, and defining a creative city can lead to stability of education. 

He also asserted that creative and innovative cities are established according to new educational models. In this regard, he continued: one of the most important weaknesses of our education system is that with regard to all of the progresses made in education of students and the capacities of superior talents, they have failed to play an effective role in increasing the gross domestic product (GDP) rate of the country.

The vice rpesident for science and technology affairs emphasized the change of public attitude toward the function of cities, stating: fortunately, the general attitude in city can create the foundation for presenting a new form of services in proportion to the society needs by startups and knowledge-based companies.

Sattari regarded the formation of an innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem to be necessary for moving toward creative cities, expressing: role of investors of the private sectors in the area of startups, defining venture capitals as a way to support new businesses, creating evaluation centers and accelerators and universities and use of the capacity of creative and educated human resource, and (the most important of all) lack of interference of the government can be some of the most important factors for the formation of an innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.

A Comprehensive Foundation to Provide Urban Services

The technological project of Yazd card is planned for participation of people based on a mutual infrastructure. This human site is established to provide various urban services in the university of applied sciences with the cooperation of citizens. This infrastructural project is based on information and communication technology and can be extensively used by people. Some of the most important benefits of Yazd Card include decreased waste of time of citizens to pay the costs of small and large urban services, including bus and taxi fares, the cost of parking space in urban and suburban areas and other citizenship centers, such as cultural and recreational centers of the city.

The comprehensive system of Shahrbin is another unveiled program in this ceremony, which is designed to solve the problems of citizens with the cooperation of citizens.

Assisting the Growth of Knowledge-based Activities with the Agreement of the Three Effective Institutions

During this ceremony, a three-side agreement was signed between the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, municipality and science and technology park of Yazd to establish a creativity and technology center in Yazd.

Moreover, this tripartite agreement, which was signed by Mahmoud Sheikh Zeinoddin, secretary of the exhibition and deputy of science and technology department, Mahdi Jamalinejhad, mayor of Yazd, and Daryoush Pourserajian, president of the technology park of Yazd, to accelerate new technologies in municipality.

According to this agreement, establishment of a creativity and new technology center in Yazd will be on the supportive and cooperative agenda of the three mentioned organizations.

Establishment of a creativity and new technologies center using the space, research, laboratory and workshop facilities and information and support services of the park and municipality of Yazd to produce, develop and transfer technology and institutionalize the development of required knowledge-based businesses in Yazd are some of the topics of this agreement.
