The vice president for science and technology believes that entrance of educational achievements into the knowledge-based economy can be realized by forming a proper entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, the vice president for science and technology pointed out in the meeting of leadership and management of economy of resistance in Yazd that the most important challenge of educational structure of the country is low involvement of educational achievements in gross domestic product (GDP) of the country, stating: while the number of students has increased since the beginning of the revolution by 28 times, the first question is that why this level of growth in the number of students has had no significant impact on the annual GDP of the country. Meanwhile, the experience of all advanced countries confirms the direct relationship between the number of education individuals and increased national GDP.

He mentioned that the answer to this question must be search in the education methods of the country, adding: education that cannot lead to the formation of an entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem is not able to create the foundation for the role of the educated society in the domestic GDP. Therefore, there is no interactions between education and economy area.

President of the national elites foundation regarded the development of an entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem as the prerequisite for orientation of universities toward the support of new businesses with the support of the private sector, affirming: creative and innovative startups are the result of change of direction toward enhancing knowledge-based businesses, significant growth of startups surrounding universities and increase of tendency of investors to invest in such businesses.

President of the knowledge-based economy, technology and science development headquarter considered the support of innovative ideas of creative and graduated youth as the most important necessity for the realization of knowledge-based economy, marking: an entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem is formed by creative and innovative youth with the creation of a suitable business environment. This ecosystem will lay the foundation for solving the fundamental challenges and provide the infrastructure for presence of economy in international areas.

The vice president for science and technology affairs continued: those who establish startups must have an appropriate foundation to continue their activities and know that their innovative ideas will be supported since this is the main path to enter the educational achievements into the economy area, improvement of occupations and fighting against cultural damages.

President of the national elites foundation also stated about the Pishgaman Accelerator of Yazd in change of the approach of universities toward educated human resource and knowledge-based businesses in this ceremony, stating: fortunately, universities have employed a new attitude toward the presence of academics in the creative economy field, and the previous resistances have been reduced. This has led to increased hope and motivation of the youth to stablish technological businesses.

Sattari pointed out that the previous businesses will be soon replaced by new business approach, which relies on the creativity of the youth. In this regard, he continued: the new culture of knowledge-based economy can affect the change of economic path of the country and change the occupation of youth, that depends on government recruitment, into an alternative of startups worth of billions.

President of the board of trustees of the national science foundation introduced the flourishing of applicable research as a necessity for role of the private sector in this field, asserting: one of the serious failures of startups is interference of the government, which leads to disrupted structure and slowed trend of these businesses.

The vice president for science and technology affairs stated that knowledge-based businesses have an important role in increase of the annual GDP of the country and can create a suitable environment for technological businesses, expressing: realization of added value and creation of occupation require the participation of the private sector and investment in new businesses.

President of the national elites foundation continued: the high potential of the Iranian startups worth of billions has created the necessary motivation for investment of the private sector in these projects.

Visit of Science and Technology Park of Yazd

During his visit to Yazd Province, the vice president for science and technology affairs visited the science and technology park of this province and talked with the technologists and entrepreneurs located in this park.

In these meetings, Sattari was accompanied by Ali Vatani, Mahmoud Zamani, Alireza Daliri, Mahmoud Sheikh Zeinoddin, Zand Hesami, Mohammad Saleh Olia, Mostafa Shah Nazari and Daryoush Pourserajian.
