The Science and Technology Exchange Program in Islamic Countries Meeting to Be Held

According to the public relations and information center of the presidency vice presidency for science and technology affairs, the secretariat of Mustafa prize (PBUH) has attempted to hold scientific meetings for more cooperation of prominent scientists of the Islamic world.

The first meeting will be held with presence of Professor Yaghi, the laureate of the first session of bestowing the Mustafa (PBUH) Prize in the field of Nano science and technology as the main teacher and lecturer and in active cooperation with the most prominent scientists of the Islamic world in this field.

This meeting will be held for 5 days from December 19 to 23, 2016 in cooperation with the UPM in Kuala Lumpur.

The Mustafa(PBUH) Prize is the superior medal of Science and Technology of the Islamic world which is granted to top researchers and scientists of the Islamic World biennially. This prize is named after one of the nicknames of the Prophet of Islam (PBHU) namely Mustafa which means laureate due to respecting him and because he emphasized on learning science a lot.

By identifying, introducing and appreciate the bests of science and technology in the Islamic world desirably, this prize propagate and encourage learning science and doing research in Islamic communities.

Moreover, this prize is pioneer in developing regional relations of scientific and technological organizations in Islamic countries and by reinforcing scientific relation between scientists and researchers of the Islamic world; it helps the scientific growth and sublimation in Islamic countries.

The Prize is awarded in four categories, namely “Life Science and Medical Sciences”, “Nano Science and Nanotechnologies”,  “The Information and Communication Science and Technologies”, and “Top Scientific Achievement in other fields”.

The laureates in each category will be awarded 500,000 USD which is financed through the endowments made to the Prize. The winners will also be adorned with a special medal and certificate.

 

Based on the executive act of the Mustafa (PBUH) Prize, Dr. Soorena Sattari (presidency vice president for science and technology affairs) is the president of the policy-making council and Mahdi Saffari Nia (president of Pardis Technology Park of the vice presidency for science affairs) is the secretary of this council of the prize.
